Closing Reception - 'Actual Size'

  • Art Produce Gallery 3139 University Ave San Diego, CA 92104 United States (map)

Join us on November 7 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. for the closing reception of Actual Size, curated by Lara Bullock, Ph.D. Take a moment to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the everyday experiences that shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.

UPDATE 10/8/26: KPBS featured this exhibition in their Top 5 Weekend Arts Events. Click here to read!

In a world increasingly shaped by images, technology, and spectacle, what happens when we slow down and pay attention to the everyday? Through diverse artistic perspectives, Actual Size creates space to reflect on what we often take for granted— and on the power of simply witnessing, noticing, and being moved to action. Join us for one last opportunity to experience the exhibition and connect with the artists and community at Art Produce Gallery.

Free and open to the public — no RSVP required. You're welcome to join us anytime during the reception!

Arriving early? Join one of our Actual Size artists, May-ling Martinez, for a sound bath from 4–5 p.m. before the reception begins at 5:30 p.m. This special experience has limited capacity and requires a separate, advance RSVP. Learn more and reserve your spot for the sound bath.

This Space 4 Art-produced exhibition is the seventh and final exhibitions as part of our year-long residency at Art Produce, funded by a generous grant from the Prebys Foundation.

The year-long programming partnership between Space 4 Art and Art Produce aims to expand support for local artists, deepen community engagement, and strengthen the city’s creative ecosystem through exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and cross-organizational collaboration.

The Prebys grant aims to help address structural challenges such as the lack of affordable arts spaces where community-based organizations like Space 4 Art can produce accessible arts programming.

The Space 4 Art @ initiative provides a synergistic means for activation at Art Produce, which remains committed to building on decades of creative experimentation and community-building in North Park.
