Due to our proximity to Petco Park and the newly implemented special event parking rates on Padres game days, Open Studios has been rescheduled to September 20 at 7-9:30 PM!
Join us for an art-filled evening featuring live electronic music, a community knitting circle, an encore performance by Killer Trees, and an immersive theatre experience—plus plenty of food, drinks, and studio visits.
Empanadas (vegetarian and vegan options included), beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options will be available for purchase at affordable prices. Please bring cash, credit, or Venmo for purchases at our concession table.
Program:
7 pm on | 🧶 Knitting circle with Linda Litteral, gathering pieces for her art show honoring sexual assault survivors through each stitch
7:15–8 pm | 🎸 Rock music by Killer Trees, an up-and-coming band that drew new audiences to S4A in May!
8:00–8:30 pm | 🎶 Jonathan Piper explores the upper limits of circular breathing on tuba, with extended techniques and found objects
8:30–8:45 pm | ✨ Special announcement: exciting updates for S4A in 2026!
8:45–9:30 pm | 🎹🎛️ Nick Lesley plays the drone synthesizer along with video projection
Beyond the performances, the heart of Open Studios is stepping into our resident artists’ creative worlds. This month, you’ll have the chance to visit the studios of Bob Leathers, Brennan Hubbell, Bridget Rountree, Bryttney-Mischele Salvant, Curtis Bracher, Dan Allen, Daria Van Nice, Elijah Rubottom, Jenna Leathers, Jonny Hoolko, Linda Litteral, Meghan Berkeley Augustine, Nic Nanette, and Sara Shah.
Derek Weiler will also open his studio for Compañeros de Cuarto, collaborating with Kevin Gomez and Jeffery Tyler Thomas in his ongoing project that invites fellow artists to share and present work alongside his own.
