SPACE 4 ART & So Say We All are pleased to present Craig Oliver's film series BURN THIS IMAGE: Summer of Subversion.  Join us for the first edition of this summer's outdoor film series as we wind through the most startling, most challenging, most disconcerting films in recent memory that Craig, organizer of the seven-year running Citizenfest All-Local Short Film Showcase, can find.  Bring a sweater and we'll complete the evening with refreshments and summer delectables.

First up on June 11, Craig will host a screening of and present a brief lecture on the 2012 film Looper, written and directed by Rian Johnson, who's also responsible for the great films Brick and the Brothers Bloom.  Looper stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis as younger/older versions of each other in a twisty time-travel sci-fi action thriller that, at its heart, functions as a meditation on the notions of human connection, of regret and redemption, solitude and sacrifice, love and loss, and the consequences of nihilism.  Emily Blunt also stars as the mother-figure of a young boy whose involvement in the plot is best kept under wraps, and Jeff Daniels stars as the mob boss who runs the organized crime in which Gordon-Levitt is involved.  Come see why most critics called this one of the smartest sci-fi films in recent years, perhaps ever.
