An exhibit of artworks by The Preuss School UCSD Fine Arts Department Students
Students at the nationally acclaimed, award-winning The Preuss School UCSD produced the artworks for the ART: Sustain It! Exhibit Art, which was made possible with an Artist Outreach Project Grant from The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation for the Art & Sustainability Project. Recognizing the value that seasoned creative professionals can bring to the community, the Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation awarded a grant to Dr. Barbara Gothard to create this program in collaboration with Barak Smith, Chairman of the Fine Arts Department at The Preuss School UCSD. The project is designed to enhance the students’ studio arts experiences with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship.
By special arrangement, Preuss students, and alumni who are now studying the arts in college, will present a full complement of artistic expression, using spoken word and music. The performing arts programs are under the direction of Natasha Ippolito, Instructor and Teacher for Musical Theater at the Preuss School UCSD.
Space 4 Art, the foremost artists live/work facility in San Diego, will host the exhibit as exemplified in their mission and commitment to be involved with the community. Gerald Montoya, resident curator and artist at the 10th Avenue Theatre and Arts Center will curate the exhibit with the support of the Space 4 Art Gallery Committee Members.
