David Shively performs drone works for percussion and electronics. Keeril Makan's Resonance Alloy (Other Minds 13 commission) glances towards Lucier and Tenney in its slow timbral exploration of three cymbals and a small gong - shifting waves of high partials and fragmentary melodies emerging from a mass of constant noise. Max Neuhaus' Fontana Mix: Feed (after John Cage), arguably the first piece of live electronic music composed, uses acoustic feedback through resonating drums and cymbals to create a more assaultive wall of sound; one that changes in every performance according to the acoustic response of the installation space. Anthony Burr, clarinet, will be a guest performer.
