Angel Mannion spends his time both onstage and behind-the-scenes working on community music projects. After studying music at San Diego State University, Angel founded professional choir Folklore Guild to record music for video game, television, and film soundtracks. As the Interactive Media and Project Manager for San Diego Opera, Angel documents the rehearsal process of each production for marketing efforts and is in charge of "OPERA HACK": a project aimed to discover new ways for technology such as augmented reality, 3D printing, and sound design to be used in the context of producing and presenting opera (funded by Opera America, Sponsored by Microsoft).
Angel is also a freelance writer and consultant for the San Diego Symphony and assisted Dr. Ruben Valenzuela as the Co-Director of WILLAN WEST 2018: a yearlong celebration of the choral music of Canadian composer, Healey Willan.
As a baritone and guest conductor, Angel frequently performs with professional choirs, symphonies, recording studios, and churches in San Diego and Los Angeles. Professional experience includes appearances with: San Diego Opera, San Diego Symphony, SACRA/PROFANA, Bach Collegium San Diego, San Diego Pro Arte Voices, True Concord Voices and Orchestra, and Saint Paul's Episcopal Cathedral.
